“Life’s like a movie, write your own ending. Keep believing, keep pretending. We’ve done just what we set out to do. Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers and you.”

Henson with his puppet persona, Kermit the Frog

Puppeteer, Jim Henson would have turned 77 on September 24, 2013. Henson’s much-loved puppets appeared on Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and, of course, The Muppets. His family donated 20  puppets to the National Museum of American History including Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Miss Piggy, who will finally join her love, Kermit the Frog at the museum. Henson received many accolades in his life such as Emmys, Grammys and a Peabody Award. In 2011, Walt Disney Records released Muppets: The Green Album, which is a collection of songs from Henson’s work.
